Abbie Hoffman, Arnold Schwarzenegger e l’America che cambia

Il 5 ottobre del 1968 il pacifista e attivista Abbie Hoffman si trovava a Washington dove era stato chiamato a testimoniare sugli incidenti avvenuti qualche mese prima durante una manifestazione a Chicago e fu arrestato perché indossava una camicia con l’immagine della bandiera americana.
Hoffman si presentò davanti alla sede del Congresso degli Stati Uniti consapevole dell’effetto dirompente che avrebbe avuto il suo abbigliamento sia sulle forze dell’ordine sia sui media.

and the changing United States

On 5 October 1968, the pacifist and activist Abbie Hoffman was in Washington DC to stand trial. The case concerned the incidents that took place during a protest in Chicago a few months before, when he was arrested for wearing a shirt with the American flag on it.
Hoffman stood before the United States Congress. He was aware of the explosive effect his outfit had on law enforcement agencies as well as on the media.
